Research
Mentorship
Research is one of the most intimidating things to start and one of the most valuable to finish. Our mentors have been through ISEF, university labs, and competitive programs — and they walk students through all of it.
What this includes
- Finding the right research direction — a question that's genuinely interesting and feasible for a high schooler
- Cold emailing professors: identifying the right faculty, writing emails that get replies, and prepping for follow-up calls
- Structuring an independent project if a lab placement isn't available
- Methodology support: how to design an experiment, collect data, and draw defensible conclusions
- Science fair prep — from local rounds through ISEF, including abstract writing and presentation coaching
- Help writing up results in a form that can be submitted to journals or competitions
- Connections to professors and graduate students in relevant fields through our mentor network
Who this is for
Students who are genuinely curious about a scientific or technical field and want to do something real in it — not a "research experience" that amounts to reading papers and writing a summary, but actual original work with results.
Our mentors have worked with professors at Georgia Tech, USC, UW, and more. They've gone through programs like SSTP and placed at ISEF. They know what real research looks like because they've done it, and they can help a student figure out where to start.
